Bruce Masters has redefined the art of the pub crawl.
In the 54 years between 1960 and 2014, the British beer enthusiast has pulled up a stool at a whopping 46,495 pubs — a Guinness World Record that not only boggles the mind, it almost defies logic. That’s like visiting one pub a day for 128 years, so he’s obviously had some whirlwind days in that span.

Even more astounding is the fact that there were only some 52,750 pubs in Masters’ native UK in 2016, which means he’s got a good chance of seeing every drinking establishment in the country during his lifetime.
And when you break that down in terms of all the money he’s spent along the way, you begin to wonder whether he’s had some sort of sponsorship for this perpetual pub tour. In 2014, it was estimated that if Masters had purchased just one pint at each stop at an average price of $4 a pop, he would have spent about $186,000.
Most of us fancy our ales and lagers too, but I think we’d probably prefer to spend that kind of money on something more meaningful. Like, say, a house.
