Some politicians can get downright kooky when it comes to social issues and here’s proof.
Last week, Texas state representative Jessica Farrar introduced a bill that would effectively fine men $100 a pop for masturbating. Farrar says her reasoning is that such behavior is a failure to protect the sanctity of life and an “act against an unborn child.”

“Let’s look at what Texas has done to women,” Farrar told CNN. “What if men had to undergo the same intrusive procedures?”
Misguided as she might be, Farrar makes a good point or two. Particularly in noting that Texas has the highest rate of women dying from pregnancy-related complications in the entire developed world.
Unsurprisingly, though, Farrar ‘s received a backlash of criticism from political foes, with some taking shots at what they call a complete misunderstanding of the issue.
“I’m embarrassed for Representative Farrar. Her attempt to compare to the abortion issue shows a lack of a basic understanding of human biology,” Rep. Tony Tinderholt said in a statement. “I would recommend that she consider taking a high school biology class from a local public or charter school before filing another bill on the matter.”
