In the south, football is a religion. Nothing is held closer to God by residents of the confederate states than the almighty pigskin.

And the state of Alabama houses what’s considered to be the most rabid of those fan bases in Crimson Tide supporters. Where else would you see a suspect give a “Roll Tide” shout-out as he’s being led away in handcuffs? Umm…nowhere.

Evidently, it’s become a thing down there, happening with enough regularity in Nick Saban country that numerous greatest hits videos have popped up on Twitter and YouTube.

You gotta love it. Absurd as it might be, it’s much more appropriate than “Hi Mom,” given the circumstances.
