Ah, to be young and dumb again. Really dumb.

Like 18-year-old Australian Lee De Paauw, who thought he could impress hot British tourist Sophie Paterson by jumping into crocodile-infested Johnstone River in north Queensland over the weekend.

And as luck would have it for De Paauw, he nearly got his arm gnawed off. He did manage to escape with his life, and his arm, after punching the crocodile when it clamped down on his arm and tried to drown him, but things didn’t get much better from there.

Paterson, 24, who dared him to jump into the water in the first place while the two were having drinks, later decided that she wasn’t into him.

“He’s too young for me,” she told a local radio show. “Being attacked by animals doesn’t really do it for me.”

Ouch. Not even a sympathy date. We’ve all been rejected by women before but that’s about as bad as it gets.
