Well, this is a result we weren’t expecting.
Over at the SmarterEveryDay YouTube channel, they decided to have a friendly competition between a .22 Magnum and a .38 Special, with the target being a Prince Rupert’s Drop. If you’re unfamiliar with a PRD, it’s a toughened glass bead created by dripping molten glass into cold water.

Upon firing the bullets, we were astounded to see that neither of the guns won, but, in fact, the glass drop withstood the impact of both bullets, shattering them upon impact. Both shells were full-metal jackets that were totally obliterated by this glass drop.
We can’t wait to see how much firepower it’s going to take to blast this bead to smithereens. Will it be a .357, a 9mm, or a .45? Hopefully we find out soon.
