A woman named Crystal Bassette used to be known as Nadia Hilton in the porn industry, where she appeared in more than 100 adult films. Today, she’s a wife, mother and a pastor in New York.
Bassette, 33, told Barcroft TV that for years she numbed herself with alcohol and drugs to provide a living for her young son, whom she gave birth to at the age of 16.
She recalled the emotional toll working in the porn industry took on her.
“I remember after the scene, I sat in the shower for about two hours crying. Then I stopped after that shoot and didn’t go back for about one month,” she said. “I ended up going back to it again and that’s when I was numbing myself through taking pain medicine and drinking alcohol to get through the scene.”
But things changed when she met David, the man who would become her husband.
David, a pastor, and Crystal got married in 2014.
“What I would like people to take away from us is that God can forgive you no matter what past you come from,” David said.
The couple ended up founding a church called New Beginnings Christian Life located in in Fulton, N.Y., where Bassette serves as a pastor with her husband.

“I look back at my past now and you know I can’t say that I really regret anything because it has made me who I am today,” she said. “It’s like if I grew up as a teacher, I probably wouldn’t be helping people now. I probably would be completely different.
“My past made me who I am today and God has changed my life completely,” she added.
