Imagine being a UFC fighter and entering the ring to the same song, fight after fight, for your entire career. Now, imagine a week before your next fight, being told that your go-to song is a no-go, and you have to come up with a backup plan.

That’s exactly what happened to former UFC champ Carla Esparza as she prepares for UFC Fight Night 105. According to MMA Junkie, Esparza had entered to Metallica’s Harvester of Sorrow her entire career. That is until she was told abruptly, with pretty much no explanation, that she could no longer use it. Here’s what she had to say in an interview with MMA Junkie:

“I am so bummed about that,” Esparza said. “I think a lot of fighters have things that are kind of their rituals, and this is one of them for me.”

“It’s a very important song to me. I’ve been walking out to it from my first fight.”

We could only imagine, how something like that, could throw a fighter off their game. Hopefully she’s able to come up with a solution and get back on track.
