In what can only be described as a regular hare-raiser, an Iowa man was arrested Wednesday after punching a nurse upon hearing that his pet rabbit had died.
According to a police report, Adam Louis was arrested following a violent confrontation in Iowa city at the University of Iowa Hospital.
The police reports state that the Cedar Rapids man “punched a female health care provider in the face knocking her unconscious after learning his pet rabbit had died.”
The assault took place in the psychiatric department of the hospital, but it’s unclear as to if Louis was a patient or how his rabbit had passed away.
Louis was booked into the Johnson County Jail and has been charged with felony assault.
