A 37-year-old Immokalee, Florida, woman is facing charges after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend with an 8-inch-long kitchen knife after he farted in her face during an argument.
According to KCTV14, Deborah Ann Burns was arrested for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon last week. Deputies reported that alcohol helped fuel the argument.
Burns told detectives that she stabbed Willie Butler, her boyfriend of six years, after the two began arguing about money while watching a nightly television program.

According to police, the two got up and walked into the kitchen. That’s when Burns said Butler walked by and farted in her face. She then confronted him about the fart, to which he responded by telling her to shut up.
Deputies said that’s when the argument became physical between Burns and Butler. He allegedly chased her through the kitchen and threw a knife at her, which missed, as stated in the arrest report.
When police arrived on scene, they found Butler standing in front of his mailbox, with cuts to his abdomen and left forearm. Deputies smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from Butler as they spoke to him.
Butler didn’t mention the alleged fart, but he did tell deputies that if Burns returned, “he would kick her butt and take care of her.”
According to the arrest report, Burns denied that she cut Butler. Deputies were unable to obtain a sworn statement from Butler, because of how intoxicated and combative he was.
Burns currently remains in custody on a bond of $50,000.
