WWE looks a lot different than it did 10+ years ago. Back in the late ’90s and early 2000s, female superstars were called divas, and while they could definitely hold their own in the ring, they were primarily used as eye candy in such events as bra and panty matches and bikini contests. These days, those sort of matches are gone and women are treated as legit competitors in the professional wrestling business.

It’s great to see amazing athletes like Charlotte, Sasha Banks and Bayley get the star treatment they deserve, but every now and again, it’s always interesting to look back at the R-rated days of wrestling. You know, for historically contextual research purposes.

Take Judgement Day 2003, for example. Those who tuned in to this WWE pay-per-view were in for quite a treat when divas Torrie Wilson and Sable faced off in a bikini contest for the ages.

As a precursor to their 2004 Playboy cover, the divas showed just why they were two of the sexiest divas in the biz when they flaunted just about everything in the ring. Nowadays, you’d have to open up an incognito web browser to watch something like that.

Yep, they definitely don’t make WWE pay-per-views like they used to.
