The northern part of the United States has been dealing with some rather treacherous weather as of late, more specifically the upper Midwest, from Minnesota to Michigan.

Nearly 800,000 people have been without power in Michigan for the past few days, due to insanely heavy winds that ripped through the area. But what knocked out power in Michigan became an opportunity to create a new sport in Minnesota. We give you…shovel surfing.
While experiencing near hurricane force winds, a group of northern Minnesotans decided to make the best of it by surfing on shovels across Lake of the Woods. While it does look pretty epic, it also looks pretty damn hard. But these fellas made it look relatively easy. About as easy as they could getting blown across a frozen lake.
