According to the Cleveland Clinic, there’s been roughly 10 percent increase in vasectomies before March Madness from 2014-2016. We’re all for not missing a beat when it comes the the annual NCAA basketball extravaganza, but wow, this is something else.

Come to find out it’s actually rather common to see an increase in these sort of procedures before a big sporting event or the release of a new video game.
According to Dr. Ryan Berglund, the typical recovery time from a vasectomy is two days, which would be enough to get someone out of work for the first few days of March Madness. But, what in the hell are you supposed to do for the remaining games of the tourney that fall on Thursday and Friday?
The number of vasectomies performed in the U.S. takes place at a rate of one in ten, with the rate being nearly double that in Canada and the U.K. Is it because they have better sporting events in those other countries? Or maybe we just like children more? Either way, it seems a bit extreme, but sometimes watching sports calls for extreme measures.
