If you’re into memorable award show moments, Sunday night’s Oscars had it all. A funny and topical monologue from Jimmy Kimmel. Junior Mints raining from the sky. La La Land winning and then subsequently losing Best Picture.
Sure, that stuff was all well and good, but if you want to see real entertainment, look no further than the Spirit Awards, which aired Saturday on IFC.
One of the more hilarious bits of the show came when Andy Samberg showed up dressed like Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and sang a “non memoriam” tribute song to actors that were still alive. A welcome alternative to the guaranteed bummer that is most In Memoriam tributes.

And that probably wasn’t even the funniest moment of the evening, an honor that without a doubt goes to Nick Kroll and John Mulaney’s opening monologue. Do yourself a favor and check this out right now.
