After over 30 years as a late night TV legend, David Letterman rolled out quite the heavy hitters of both guests and musicians for his final shows back in mid-2015.
One of those musicians was Tracy Chapman, who with electric guitar in hand, rocked out a bone-chillingly bare bones rendition of “Stand By Me.”
The song was Letterman’s choice, and before Chapman came on stage, Letterman explained that “Stand By Me” held a special place in his heart, recalling how he played it to his son over and over again when he was a little boy.
What an awesome late night moment.
