When it comes to smuggling drugs, we’ve nearly seen it all, from tunneling under the ground from Mexico to the U.S. to catapulting bundles of marijuana over the existing border wall. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Police in Kuwait can now add pigeon with a backpack to the long list of smuggling techniques.

Earlier this week, Kuwaiti police apprehended a homing pigeon, loaded with nearly 200 ecstasy pills hidden in a tiny backpack. According to the NY Post, it isn’t the first time a pigeon was enlisted to carry illicit drugs. In 2015, a pigeon was found carrying cocaine and marijuana into a jail in Costa Rica.

The homing pigeon has been doing its thing for a few thousand years in the form of carrying messages. But apparently the drug trade has become so lucrative, that pigeons couldn’t resist the temptation and have decided to capitalize on it.
