Just like the term “road rage,” xylophone rage had to get its start somewhere.

That somewhere is Fort Walton Beach, Florida, where 43-year-old April Encarnacion was reportedly arrested earlier this month for assaulting a man when he refused to stop playing the instrument.

Police say Encarnacion was in the kitchen with the male victim when he decided to put on a show for her one Friday night. She apparently wasn’t entertained by the man’s musical exploits and repeatedly asked him to stop. When he ignored her and continued playing, Encarnacion dumped a pot of cold cooking grease on him.

She was charged with misdemeanor battery and jailed in lieu of $3,000 bond. Hopefully, xylophone rage becomes a thing. The name alone conjures up all sorts of hilarious imagery and could be the source of a lot of witty news stories.
