It seems the best way to snag a big fish after you hook it these days is to get in their with your bare hands and put some muscle behind it. We’ve seen countless videos of anglers doing just that lately.

California fly fishing guide Matt Heron employs the same technique in this video after he hooks a monster 30-inch brown trout. You’d think it would be easy to pull in considering it’s a fairly shallow stream barely knee deep, but it evades then net and gives him a good run, actually requiring him to make a diving shoestring tackle to keep it from getting away.
Well, that’s definitely one way to do it.
