Disney CEO Bob Iger says that one of the forthcoming Star Was installments will be a standalone film centering on the Han Solo character, how he came to be and how he got his name.
Iger discussed details of the project, as well as other things, at a tech conference at the University of Southern California Thursday, according to a Deadline report.
“[The film] picks up Han Solo when he was 18 years old and takes him through to when he was 24,” Iger said. “There were a few things that happened [that were] significant in Han Solo’s life, like acquiring a certain vehicle and meeting a certain Wookie, that will happen in this film. But you’ll also discover how he got his name.”
Iger also said the movie will star Alden Ehrenreich of Blue Jasmine as a young Han Solo, Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton and Donald Glover, and be directed by The Lego Movie creators Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
